Our Story. Where It All Began
In 1995, Altea Gallery was at the forefront of the digital revolution in the antiquarian map trade, becoming one of the first dealers to launch a fully illustrated online catalogue. This innovation allowed us to expand our reach beyond traditional boundaries, offering collectors from around the world access to our carefully curated selection.
Today, we continue to maintain both a distinguished physical gallery in London’s Mayfair and a robust online presence, blending the best of both worlds to serve a global clientele.
Strong Reputation
Over the years, we have built a strong reputation for working with prestigious institutions, including libraries, museums, and renowned private collectors. Our clients include notable organizations such as:
- The National Library of Singapore
- David Rumsey Map Collection
- Library of Congress
- National Library of Scotland
- British Library
- National Library of Wales
- Stanford University
- State library of Florida
- Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin
Professional Memberships
Altea Gallery is a proud member of the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers (ILAB) and the Antiquarian Booksellers’ Association (ABA), adhering to the highest standards of authenticity, professionalism, and customer care.
