Description

First edition of this well engraved map of Paris, adorned with a title cartouche to the top right showing the arms of the city of Paris, depicting a ship, symbol of the corporation of water merchants which then gave birth to the municipality of Paris. On the side panels there are tables of streets, parishes, colleges, hospitals, notable buildings, squares, etc. This plan closely reproduces Lattré's town plan published between 1768 and 1788

Toning at folds, slipcase distressed.
