Description
A bird's-eye view of the Temple of Solomon, showing the building filled with people, not only worshippers but merchants and shepherds,
The plate was probably engraved for Christopher Plantin's 'Biblia Polyglotta', overseen by orientalist Benedictus Arias Montanus (1527-98). Hoever it was not included, but was later issued in other Plantin publications.
