Description
A striking poster map for the use at London Underground stations, still designed by Beck, the originator of the 'electric circuit' diagramatic map in 1933.
The extensions to the Northern and Central Lines proposed before the war but later abandoned are still shown. The Cental Line extension between Stratfor and Ongar is shown 'Under Construction', although a label has been added 'Central Line Extension Stafrod to Leytonstone is Now Open'.
This is the last issue of the poster to have the geometric border designed by 'Shep' (apparently a Captain Shepherd). Only 2,000 examples were printed of this edition
