Description

An elevated prospect of Florence, published in Belleforest's 'La Cosmographie universelle de tout le monde', which was a French translation of Sebastian Munster's 'Cosmography'. For this view of Florence Belleforest copied one of Munster's woodcuts, although he also reproduced many of Braun and Hogenberg's engraved town plans.

Condition:

Repaired tear.
