Description

A prospect of Castiglione Torinese in Piedmont from the Po River, dominated by a baroque palace with ornamental gardens and orchards within its walls. The map was published in the fourth volume of Johannes Blaeu's Townbooks of Italy, 'Pedemontium Florentissimum Italiae Latus', published after his death. Later editions were published by Moetjens, Mortier & Alberts. The colour is particularly fine, with the town armorial accentuated with gold.

Condition:

A little toning of paper in the margins.
