Description

Uruguay and northern Argentina, with the course of the Rio de la Plata. One of its tributaries reaches Cusco in Peru, and another approaches Potosi, the famous mountain of silver in Bolivia. This waterway became a major route for silver smugglers wishing to bypass official channels
