Description
A map of Africa as known to the Romans, showing the continent south to the Mountains of the Moon, as well as the Holy Land and Arabia. It is decorated with elaborate cartouches for the title and scale, and coins from the reign of the emperor Hadrian.
Blankaart (1629-1703), a professor at Leiden, drew maps of the three continents of the Old World fof Jansson's Historical atlas.
