Description

An illustration of Tycho, the crater in the southern lunar highlands. Named after the astronomer Tycho Brahe, it is famed as the fictional site of an alien monolith in Stanley's Kubrick's film, '2001: A Space Odyssey'. Plate 76 of 'The Beauty of the Heavens: a pictorial display of the astronomical phenomena of the universe' by Charles F. Blunt.
