Description

The earliest printed map of Cambridge, a 'map-view' with the major buildings, in this case the colleges, shown in profile, with no consideration for perspective. It was published in the 'Civitates Orbis Terrarum', the first series of printed town plans: it was the first map in Volume II, which was first published in 1575, three years after Volume I.

Condition:

A very fine example.
