Description

A fine 'map-view' of Canterbury with the major buildings shown in profile, with no consideration for perspective, published in the 'Civitates Orbis Terrarum', the first series of printed town plans. It was the first map in Volume IV, which was first published in 1588, sixteen years after Volume I.

Condition:

Repair at centre fold, small area of verdigris reinforced on reverse.
