A late 17th century re-issue of Braun & Hogenberg’s plan of Ancona

An uncommon issue of Braun & Hogenberg's 1572 plan of Ancona, as updated in 1657 by Jan Jansson but published in de Wit's 'Theatrum Praecipuarum Totius Europeae Urbum'. In 1657 Jansson changed the plate, with a new title and a cartouche featuring mer-people and fish, re-engraving the hachuring of the sea and changing the ships. De Wit editions are very scarce.
