Important tectonic map of Arabia marking the ‘Arabian Gulf’

A large and highly-detailed geological map of Arabia, created for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources by Glen F. Brown of the U.S. Geological Survey. The map highlights onshore oil fields, marked in pink with cross-hatching. Notably, the map lacks many political borders. While borders with Jordan, Iraq, and Kuwait are shown, those with Qatar and the UAE are absent. The gulf on this map is named "Arabian Gulf". This tectonic map integrates the latest geological research of its time, incorporating data from geophysical surveys, deep exploratory drilling, and even Gemini and Apollo space photography. The colour coding differentiates between 'Effusive Rocks' (shades of blue), 'Cenozoic or late Mesazoic Intrusive or Tectonically Emplaced Rocks', 'Precambrian and Cambrian Intrusive or Tectonically Emplaced Rocks' and 'Precambrian Rocks'.
