Description
A beautiful double-hemisphere celestial chart, with the pictorial constellations named in Italian, with the Sun (with Mercury) and Moon in the cusps, and Saturn, Jupiter, Mars and Venus in the corners. It is based on the manuscript celestial globe made by astronomer Francesco Brunacci (1640-1703) as one of a pair of globes produced by the De Rossi workshop and now in the Isimbardi Palace in Milan. The engraved text underneath describes the celestial globe.
This celestial chart was published in Petrini's rare 'Atlante Partenopeo'.
