Description

A detailed map of Russia, from Clopppenburg's version of the Mercator-Hondius Atlas. The "Atlas Minor" by Johannes Cloppenburg was the least successful of three "Minor" versions of Gerard Mercator's atlas, and seems to have been supressed after 1636 until 1670. Most of the copperplates were engraved by Pieter van den Keere, but this map of Russia was engraved by Dirck Cornelissen Swardt.
