Description
A very fine example of De Wit's prospect of Istanbul from across the Golden Horn, with a 17-point key in Dutch and a short descriptive text in Dutch, French, German and English (as above, with minimal punctuation!). In the forground are travellers with two camels, one of which is loaded with a carpet or tapestry. The prospect was published in Frederick de Wit's townbook of Europe.
