Description

Guillaume Delisle's world map revised and published by Dezauche, showing the discoveries of Cook's three voyages, but with Tasmania still joined to mainland Australia. Issued in Year 9 of the French Revolution, the references to Delisle and Buache as Geographers to the King have been removed. The head in the clouds above the map represents the Deistic religion that was to replace the Catholic Church in France.
