The main diagram shows Tycho Brahe's theory that the sun revolves around the earth and the other planets revolve around the sun. The twelve zodiac's symbols are depicted in a ring around the diagram, and a large vignette depicts Apollo driving his chariot across the sky while other gods represnitng the planets are running above the clouds.
