A detailed sea chart of the environs of Waitangi in New Zealand

A large and detailed seachart of the southern section of the Bay of Islands, with Waitangi (marked 'District d'Hoshi') and Paihia ('Payéha'. It was surveyed by officers of the French expedition led by Louis-Isidore Duperrey, which circumnavigated the world, spending two weeks in the Bay of Islands. The chart was engraved by Ambroise Tardieu and published as plate 19 of 'Voyage autour du Monde, executé par ordre du Roi, sur la Corvette de sa Majesté, la Coquille, pendant les années 1822, 1823, 1824 et 1825'.
