A pair of Ottoman celestial charts of the Northern and Southern skyes

Two rare maps of the northern and southern celestial hemispheres, with the titles and descriptive text in Turkish. Written in Arabic text. In the borders are diagrams illustrating eclipses of the Sun and Moon, Seasons and Times of Day. These maps were published in educator and publisher Mehmet Essref's 'Umum-i Vilayat-i Sahaneyi Havi Kusu Atlas', a rare atlas ( a single example is listed in OCLC records, in the Bogazici University Library in Istanbul).
