Description

A large and superbly-detailed map of Sardinia, on a scale of 1:250,000, engraved by Desbuissons with relief shown with hatchuring. The map was drawn up by Alberto Ferrero della Marmora (1789-1863), commander of the command of the Royal School of Marines in Sardina, aided by Carlo de Candia. He became governor-general of the island in 1849. A very fine example.
