A superb prospect of Rome

A detailed panopramic view of Rome engraved by Francesco Citterio after Gaetano Gariboldi (1815-57). Taken from the Janiculum, it looks down on the Vatican on the left, the Castel Sant'Angelo, the Colosseum and, far right, the Fontana dell'Acqua Paola. As usual in these 19th century panoramic prints the margins have beenn painted black to mimic the presentation of a watercolour.
