Description
A Japanese ukiyo-e woodblock view of the Eitai Bridge over the Sumida River in Tokyo, the bridge filled with traffic. In the background is Mount Fuji.
This wooden bridge was completed in March 1875 (Meiji 8).
Utagawa Hiroshige III (c.1842-1894) was born Gotō Torakichi but took the name Hiroshige after he married the daughter of Utagawa Hiroshige II, his master.
