Description

A very decorative map of the island of Cyprus embellished with a large cartouche to the bottom right showing Leda being drawn across the sea by a pair of swans.Also featuring a scale cartouche, two coats of arms, two wind roses and three sailing ships. Curiously the spelling of Nicosia in this map is shown as "Nocosia".

Condition:

Old ink mss. numeral in top margin.
