A decorative 17th century map of Devon

A fine map of Devon, decorated with cartouches for the title and scale and a block of eight armorials of local nobility held aloft by cherubs. This map was originally issued in 1644, with no armorials. By the time Jansson's county atlas was completed in 1646, the armorials were added. For the 1652 issue, Lundy was appeared, as this example. Unusually, this example has no text on the reverse.
