Description
A scarce map of the North Atlantic, published in Volume 5 of Jansson's ''Atlas Novus'', the so-called 'Water World''. It shows the British Isles and Norway top right, south to Guinea in West Africa; southern Iceland, Greenland Nunavut; and the Eastern Seaboard of America from Nova Scotia south to the mouth of the Orinico River.
Although the mythical island of Frisland has been removed this chart still shows the phantom islands of Bus & Brasil (both off the coast of Ireland) and Bermeja (in the Gulf of Mexico.
