Description

A fine 18th century plan of Augsburg, drawn, engraved and published in the city. Presented as a bird's-eye view, it highlights the defences of the city walls, and is decorated with an ornate dedication cartouche. Under the map are extensive keys. Kraus (c.1696-1775) was a military cartographer, and engraver, as well as being the guardian of Augsburg's arsenal. He also drew Seutter's plan of London. A very fine example
