Description
A miniature map of the world, engraved by Girolamo Porro from Rumold Mercator's map of 1589, published in Magini's edition of 'Ptolemy's Geography'. The two spheres are surrounded by strapwork borders, with an armillary sphere and a compass rose in the cusps.
