Description
An important and finely engraved map of south west England and southern Wales, with a large strapwork title cartouche filling the Bristol Channel,
It was one of five regional maps drawn up by Mercator himself but first published, posthumously, in 1595. Maps of the individual counties of England and Wales did not appear in the Mercator atlas until the British Isles volume was added by Jan Jansson in 1646.
