Description
A large map of the eastern Mediterranean with Cyprus showing prominently, primarily designed to show the locations of various religious orders and monastics. However it is made more interesting by the inclusion of various anecdotes with illustrations, including dragons, griffons, centaurs and winged sea-horses. In Egypt there is St Helen crossing the Nile on a crocodile; Arabia has a tribe that smoke their dead above fires.
