Description

A map of the region between Baltimore and Annapolis on Nova Scotia, and Lake Champlain, marking the postal route from Philadelphia to 'Piscataway' (Portsmouth, New Hampshire), via New York and Boston. An extensive text is titled 'An Account of ye Post of ye Continent of N.th America as they were Regulated by ye Postmasters Gen.l of ye Post House'. Moll first published his 'Atlas Minor' in 1729 but, shortly after his death in 1732, Thomas Bowles and his son John reissued it with plate numbers added, as this example. A later state has the postal route to Albany was added.
