An 18th century English map of Virginia and Maryland

An English map of the environs of Chesapeake Bay, marking Richmond in Virginia and Baltimore in Maryland, but the map predates the founding of Washington, D.C., by over half a century. Moll first published his 'Atlas Minor' in 1729 but, shortly after his death in 1732, Thomas Bowles and his son John reissued it with plate numbers added, as this example.
