Munster’s map of northern Europe after Ortelius

Derived from theb Ortelius map of Scandinavia, this map shows from Britain to the Arctic Circle, with Scandinavia, Iceland, Northern Russia, Greenland and part of North America (called Estotilant). Although the cartography of Scandinavia is an improvement a number of mythical islands appear in the Atlantic, including Brasil (just off the coast of Ireland), Friesland and St Brendain. 'Drogeo' is believed to represent Newfoundland.
