Very decorative map of the northern Balkans, after Augustine Hirschvogel.
Vrients was the first publisher to issue Italian editions of the 'Theatrum Orbis Terrarum' atlas: the first was in 1608 and the second in 1612. As the letterpress is identical it is likely that the second edition consisted of unused sheets from the first. A fine example
