Description

A lovely example of Europe's first pocket atlas, containing maps reduced from Ortelius's Theatrum by Philip Galle. First published in 1577, the Epitome increased in size as new maps were added to the Theatrum and then reduced by Galle.

Condition:

A little worming in prelims.
