The famous Ortelius map of the north Atlantic regions

A classic collector's map of Northern Europe, after Olaus Magnus and Zeno, showing Britain and Scandinavia in detail, but also showing Greenland and parts of North America. The mythical island of Frisland is shown, as are the islands of Brasil & St. Brendan from Celtic mythology. 'Drogeo' island is believed to represent Newfoundland. In the Arctic (which is depicted in the form of Mercator's map of the North Pole) is a note 'Pigmys live here'!
