Description
A rare and early 18th century map of the British Isles, delineating both the counties and the seven Saxon kingdoms. The title is within an ornate cartouche based on a harp, with a blank dedication area.
Although Petrini has attributed the cartography to Sanson, it is likely that this is via G.G. De Rossi's map of 1674. Shirley describes the first state as having a third of the title area blank; as this example has it filled it is likely to be from the second edition of his 'Atlante Partenopeo', 1717.
