Description
A map of Africa based on one engraved by Jodocus Hondius II in 1623, with six city views in panels along the top and five costume vignettes down each side. When Picart copied the map in 1644, the original plate had already been cut down, losing another six prospects along the bottom.
This example comes from the second state, with no address in the lower cartouche.
Condition:
Trimmed to plate lower left, margin restored.References:
