Description

An early example of this large map of Great Britain, originally issued 1708. It is from the second state, with the Maxell's name added after he joined the partnership, which only lasted until 1711. Senex retained control of this plate, publishing it in his 'English Atlas' from 1714. The ornate title cartouche features a portrait of Queen Anne, the Royal Arms and a scene of Hercules fighting the Hydra.

Condition:

Repairs to folds and a tear.
