Description

A very early printed map of the world, published in the second edition of Angelus & Caldarini's version of Ptolemy, first published 1478. The map is indistinguishable from the first edition. An unusual feature of the series is the lettering, which is not engraved with a burin but stamped onto the plate.

Condition:

Joined at the centre, as issued; a few small repairs to edges.
