Description
Two maps on one sheet: above is a plan of St Philip's Castle, highlighting its defences and those of the satellite forts; below is a map of Mahon Harbour, marking the roads between Mahon and the castle.
It was first published in Exshaw's 'Gentleman's And London Magazine' in 1756, but here it has the original engraved title removed and an extensive letterpress description and key around the map. As the text does not mention the fall of Minorca in 1756 and Georgetown (now Es Castell, founded 1771) does not appear on the map, it is likely this state was issued soon after the original issue.
