Description

The Eastern Seaboard from Labrador to 'La Florida', with 'La Bremuda' for Bermuda. It shows the discoveries of Jacques Cartier's first voyage to Canada and Verrazzano's voyages around Cape Fear. Engraved by Sanuto for Ruscelli's 'La Geographi di Claudio Tolomeo', this example is from the third and final state, numerous changes, including the addition of a galleon and seamonster, 'Virginia' and 'Nova Francia' and also more mountains are added to the plate.

Tiny stitch holes at centre fold.
