Description
A map of the environs of the Great Lakes, marking the Upper Mississippi and Missouri, based on D'Anville, noting the native of the tribal regions, the French trading forts including Fort Dusquesne, and 'Kansez' (Kansas City) 'Chicagon' (Chicago), and Philadelphia. Upper right is James Bay, the southern spur of Hudson Bay.
Brothers Francesco and Paulo Santini were the editor and engraver respectively of their 'Atlas Universel', first issued in 1776, before selling the plates to Remondini in 1781.
