Description
Although Schenk re-issued the Jansson/Cellarius celestial atlas, this double hemisphere star chart was engraved for his own 'Atlas Contractus'. It shows the northern and southern celestial spheres, with six further diagrams (including the theories of the solar system of Brahe, Copernicus and Ptolemy) within an engraved border of clouds.
