Description

A map of North America as far west as the Rocky Mountains, concentrating on rivers and mountains rather than settlements. The Great Lakes are over-sized; the Mississippi River flows too far west, enteringf the Gulf of Mexico in present-day Texas; the Straits of Anian sugges a North West Passage; and Frobisher's Straits cross Greenland. From 'Geographia Naturalis' by Heinrich Scherer, a Jesuit mathematician and geographer.
