Description
Seutter's famous map of New England, first issued in 1730, here published by Lotter, his son-in-law and successor. The title cartouche shows tribute being offered to the British Monarch (originally George II), with a view of New York underneath. Spread over the surface of the map are various vignette animals, including turkeys, moose, bears and beaver.
This state is noted for being the first with Boston supelt correctly.
