Description

Speed's classic map of the Turkish Empire and the Arabian Peninsula, with ten costume vignettes down the sides and eight city prospects, including Constantinople, Jerusalem and Alexandria, along the top. On the verso is a description of the Turkish Empire and the religious habits of its people. The map was first published in 1627, in Speed's 'Prospect of the Most Famous Parts of the World', the first atlas of the world to be published in England.

A good example.
