A leaflet map of Kenya for tourists, first published in 1968, only four years after Kenya became a republic, under the leadership of Jomo Kenyatta. Aimed at rebuilding the tourist trade it higlights the National Parks and Game Reserves, with vignettte illustrations of the big game to be seen. Off the coast more vignettes highlight the possibilities of big-game fishing and watersports. featuring charming illustrations of wildlife such as rhinos, giraffes, boats, and swordfish. An inset shows the location of Kenya within the African continent. The reverse of the leaflet features detailed maps and descriptions of Mombasa and Nairobi, as well as tables of key attractions and climate information, showing monthly averages for rainfall, temperature and sunshine. Notably, the map includes a restriction note: "Not for sale in Kenya".
