Description

A detailed map of South America, surrounded by a decorative border, with seven vignettes, including views of Valparaiso and Rio De Janeiro, and illustrations of rope bridges, llamas and condors. The map was drawn and engraved by John Rapkin for the 'The Illustrated Atlas, and Modern History of the World, Geographical Political, Commercial & Statistical', edited by Montgomery Martin, which was one of the last decorative atlases to be published.

Condition:

A little faint toning of edges, spot in sea off Brazil.
