Description
A map of the World, centred on the Pacific, with seven engraved vignette
scenes, including London, Gibraltar, Constantinople, Vesuvius and the Pyramids. The British possessions marked with red and steam routes to the British colonies are also shown.
The map was drawn and engraved by John Rapkin for the 'The Illustrated Atlas, and Modern History of the World, Geographical Political, Commercial & Statistical', edited by Montgomery Martin, which was one of the last decorative atlases to be published.
